Dr Andrew McClure

Dr Andrew McClure graduated in Medicine from Sydney University in 1981. After two years Residency at Concord Hospital and four years service as a Medical Officer in the Royal Australian Navy, he trained in Psychiatry at the Liverpool, Cumberland and Westmead Hospitals, achieving Fellowship of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 1993.

He has worked as a staff psychiatrist with the Orange Area Health Service and until recently was a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) to the Mid Western Area Health Service (Orange) and the Corrections Health Service (Bathurst, Kirkconnell and Lithgow Correctional Centres). He continues a VMO with Corrections Health (Parklea, Lithgow, Kirkconnell CC) and the Royal Australian Navy.

Dr McClure has been engaged in private psychiatric practice, including medico-legal assessments since February 1994. He has provided detailed assessment reports for many plaintiff and defendant solicitors, insurance companies, Federal and State Departments and the Courts. He has undertaken the Motor Accident Authority Assessors training. He is a Motor Accidents Authority Medical Assessor, an Authorised Report Writer for the NSW Victims Compensation Tribunal and a WorkCover Approved Medical Specialist.

Particular interests include mood and anxiety disorders, personality, somatisation and trauma.
